Students will have the opportunity to climb high into the trees and see the world from a new perspective! Each class there will be a different high ropes activity, including climbing into the tree’s canopy and walking out on a limb (literally!). Some days, there will be opportunities to climb multiple times, but they will always get to climb at least once. Kids will play field games and take part in other outdoor activities with an instructor while waiting for their turn to climb. We are always harnessed in while climbing, so we get all the fun without the worry!

Our after school programs are usually held on school grounds, just after dismissal. We work directly with the school’s after school program coordinator (or PTA) to offer these programs. Reach out to your school (or to us) to see if we’re in the process of setting up a program with your school. We have programs with Mary Munford, St. Catherine’s, Good Shepherd Episcopal School, and Patrick Henry School of Science and the Arts, but have offered programs for many Chesterfield, Henrico, and City of Richmond Schools.
Here’s how we typically set up our programs:
* For our tree climbing programs, kids take turns climbing (harnessed in and belayed by an instructor) while the rest of the group does games and activities.
* Typically a 6 week long program, once a week, for an hour and 15 minutes each class. This can be somewhat flexible.
* Held on school property directly after school.
*Open to any grade levels, but we prefer to split them into classes grouped by a few grades together (Ex – k-2nd; 3rd-5th; 6th-8th).
* Our minimum per class is 9 kids, maximum is 12. If there is more interest, or you’d like to offer the class to several different age groups, we can do multiple days a week (Ex – k-2nd on Tuesdays, 3rd-5th on Wednesdays).
* We often build a rain day into the program in case we need to cancel a day due to weather (usually just extending the program by 1 week). We can also do environmental ed activities inside if there’s an indoor space we can use.
* Either the school or PTA typically handles registration and payment, but if that’s not an option, let us know and we can take care of the entire enrollment process.
